Meet the Teacher

Hello and welcome to my classroom site!  This year, my fourth graders will be learning about everything from Island of the Blue Dolphins to decimals.  However, before they enter the classroom, you might want to know a little bit of background information on me!

My name is Jeanne Cosgrove and I am 23 years old.  I only recently moved to Orlando in July after being offered my position at Bonneville Elementary School.  I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity to do what I love best...teach!  I am a May 2010 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  This will be my first year teaching, and I cannot wait to start!  During college, I worked part-time as a server at Jim 'N Nicks BBQ, and I was very involved in the University Honors Program and my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta.  I am originally from Hartford, Alabama, a small farming community in the south-eastern part of the state.  I graduated from Geneva County High School in 2005 with a class of fifty-nine students.  Needless to say, we were very close!  My parents and 17-year-old brother still reside in Hartford, and I also have a 20-year-old sister who is currently attending the University of South Alabama.  My father was in the United States Army for twenty-six years, and my mother is a homemaker who originally hails from Okinawa, Japan.  In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, going to the beach, and hanging out with my boyfriend and our two-year-old German Shepard, Layla.
